A Resilient Leader and Expert Problem Solver

Aaron has been a vital member of the WorkCentive team since June 2016, contributing his expertise and dedication for the past nine years. Having previously worked with a WorkCentive employee at another consulting firm specializing in SAP implementations, Aaron was drawn to the company’s vision and culture after speaking with Noah. He appreciated the opportunity to be part of a smaller, growing organization where he wasn’t just a number, but someone who could make a meaningful impact.

From the beginning, Aaron saw WorkCentive as a place to grow alongside the company. His first project - a complete rebuild of an existing Varicent implementation, was a defining experience. The client was struggling with outdated software, leading to excessively long calculation cycles, sometimes taking up to two days instead of the expected under-one-hour timeframe. Aaron played a critical role in optimizing their system, overcoming technical and interpersonal challenges along the way. One particularly difficult aspect of the project was working with a project manager who resisted necessary changes. By standing firm in his expertise, Aaron navigated the situation successfully, ultimately improving his confidence, leadership skills, and ability to guide client towards the best solution.

Aaron’s promotion to Manager in 2021 was a pivotal moment for both him and WorkCentive. At the time, the Company was looking to establish a CaptivateIQ team, and Aaron had already been successfully running Varicent projects with little to no oversight. Stepping into this leadership role gave him the opportunity to take ownership of the practice as a personal challenge while also training and developing his own team to handle implementations. Aaron played a key role in strengthening the CaptivateIQ product by identifying enhancements for the product team to elevate the client experience. Additionally, he helped develop a Global Attributes approach, ensuring adherence to best practices. Over time, his team became not only proficient in CaptivateIQ but also cross-trained in Varicent, further strengthening WorkCentive’s expertise and ability to support a diverse range of client needs.

Aaron’s ability to balance hands-on problem-solving with effective delegation has made him a strong leader at WorkCentive. He is constantly refining his approach to mentorship, knowing when to step in and when to empower his team to take the lead. His career has been shaped by process improvement and finding efficiencies, a skillset he first honed in his earliest role out of university. Working for an automotive supply company, he managed software tracking vehicles and designed a system to streamline priority vehicle identification, saving countless hours and preventing costly errors.

Beyond his professional expertise, Aaron is an adventurer at heart. Being a passionate hiker, he recalls a meaningful trip to Scotland with his father and younger brother, where they hiked Ben Nevis, an experience that deepened his connection to his heritage and love for the outdoors. Few people know that Aaron is also classically trained in piano, having dedicated over seven years to mastering the instrument.

Whether he’s optimizing Varicent implementations, leading teams, or exploring the great outdoors, Aaron embodies resilience, problem-solving, and a drive for excellence. His impact at WorkCentive continues to shape the company’s success, and we’re proud to have him on our team.
