A Hands-On Look at Customized Training Solutions
We created the “5 Days of Enablement” series to give a sneak peek at how one client approached hands-on, customized enablement training with WorkCentive.Their program spanned five focus areas: User & Admin Best Practices, Data & ELT, Expanding Model Logic, Reports & Views, and Troubleshooting & Security Essentials. Each session emphasized practical, relevant, and actionable skills that admins could apply directly inside their own environment.
But that’s just one example. Our Enablement Programs are fully customizable. Whether you want a single session or a full series, we design training around your environment, your data, and your goals.
The result: admins and users who are more confident, independent, and effective.
During our series, we shared not only how their enablement was structured but also a quick pro tip from each training segment, which you can explore below:
Day 1: Kicking off 5 days of Enablement!
Today's Focus: building confidence inside your own Varicent environment - working with calculations, updating tables, and practicing with your own data. Because training should be more than just slides - it should be practical, relevant, and actionable.💡 Pro Tip: Use Process Lists as built-in checklists to stay consistent, avoid missed steps, and save time on repeatable tasks.

Day 2 : ELT Training
Today's Focus: giving admins the confidence to move data seamlessly inside Varicent. From mastering pipes and connectors to adding new data elements, ELT is what keeps your system clean, accurate, and always up to date.Pair this with a Technical Model Walkthrough and you don’t just learn how things are set up - you understand the why.
Because enablement isn’t theory. It’s about building practical, relevant, and actionable skills.
💡 Pro Tip: Added a new column in Workday, Salesforce, or Snowflake? Remember to recreate your data store in ELT. This small step saves hours and increases self-sufficiency.

Day 3: Reports & Views Training
Today's Focus: empowering admins to build flexible, ad-hoc reports and dashboards directly in Varicent. Training covers the mechanics of building Reports and Views - giving admins the ability to customize fields, slice data, and prepare exports for Excel or imports back into the system. From there, the possibilities are broad: dashboards for senior leadership, motivational reports for your salesforce, revenue reporting for Finance, or even automated forecasting. (Our consulting team can help tailor these use cases, but training ensures admins know the how.)
💡 Pro Tip: Create a View when you need one-off reports, quick exports, or to combine data with other sources in Excel.

Day 4: Enhancing Model Logic
Today's Focus: as businesses evolve, so do comp models. We guide admins through enhancing calculation processes, adding components, and scaling logic in Varicent Composer while ensuring everything flows seamlessly across reporting, payroll, and exports. Flexible models drive long-term success and should grow with your organization.💡 Pro Tip: When rolling out a new payout type, start simple with a bonus table. Once the basics flow correctly into reporting and payroll, then layer in more complexity.

Day 5: Troubleshooting & Security
Today's Focus: empowering admins to confidently solve issues and secure their environment. Training covers how to troubleshoot in Composer, trace problems efficiently, and establish strong security practices - like building hierarchies, managing access, and onboarding new reps with ease.Because real enablement means independence: your team should be able to solve, secure, and succeed on their own.
💡 Pro Tip: Use choke point calculations to troubleshoot faster. Tracing through a few choke points can eliminate hundreds of possibilities.
